Art is a bit like gambling!
What does that mean?
It means if you are a writer then to write the perfect article or even to get it barely just right is like winning a lottery.
There is no guarantee that it will happen!
And all you can really do is just keep drawing more tickets…
But over time you do get more attuned to how the touch of a winning ticket feels
if you know what I mean
Like seeing the combined effect of the cumulative micro improvements from writing and publishing about 50 odd articles within the last three weeks.
The process won’t look exactly the same for you, but I have no doubt that it can and it happen for you as well!
Is this what life feels like?

Here’s something interesting about this picture
Just don’t give up until you get to this point

Because this is what the full picture looks like

That’s why the worst thing that you can do to yourself and your heart is – give up just before it is about to become easy!
To state the unobvious
This isn’t your actual journey or progress.
This is just what it feels like.
Struggling with any new or unknown aspect is like a new hill!
And unless you have crossed enough hills in the past, it’s really hard to know for sure that it will get easier.
But when you don’t know that in your bones, the mind just assumes that things will always stay this difficult or get worse.
Objectively speaking, the mind games that are going inside you don’t really matter.
Because once you cross the tipping point it will get easier.
If you don’t want to overthink and overanalyze the situation to death you have to blindfold the doubtful mind till you reach the tipping point.
How?
Let’s say you want to become a writer.
You have to figure out a way to get through the first hundred articles, pieces, or poems.
Hundred isn’t a hard and fast number, but it has to be big enough so that your identity in your own subconscious can transform from a wanna-be-writer to an actual writer!
Now break that tipping point goal down!
Think of something completely reasonable.
And start with just a little more than that.
In this case, reasonable is one article per week, so I will start will say two articles per week!
Note: it's important to have execution and process goals at first and not result goals. Never start with something like I will get 10 subscribers on my newsletter or YouTube channel. That's out of your hand.
Start doing it!
Make sure you track your progress.
Come back at the end of week one and see how many articles did you actually write.
Remember, after setting this goal no excuse justifies not writing two articles.
You will feel like you didn’t have time but what’s really happening –
Your brain is trying to make excuses to avoid the pain of something new and unknown.
RA
Just keep doing that until you get 20% off that initial goal. 20 articles in this case.
I assure you that if you do it for 10 weeks in a row then it will start to become easier.
Maybe writing will still stay difficult and you still won’t enjoy it but
- Sitting down to write will become easier
- Finding time will become easier
- Finding topics will become easier
And after all these micro frustrations are gone and once writing itself becomes easier for you that’s when the real artist inside you gets a chance.
That’s when you start making better and more amazing connections between things.
That’s when you start phrasing things in a highly impactful way!
Once you get a taste of that improvement in yourself that’s when you know that you have reached the tipping point of your art.
After that, there will be no holding you back and that’s when being doing great will start to become easy and almost natural for you.
But thinking about all that right now is only going to bog you down.
Coz right now it’s just about making sure that you put 1 foot in front of the other and get to the first milestone.
The road to success with art is difficult and painful. And the only way to make sure that you don’t quit mid-way is to get to the tipping point!
After which, it all starts to become easy
