What if you structure your goals like incentives of Ola drivers?
- Complete six rides and get ₹300
- Complete 12 and get ₹850
- Complete 15 and get ₹1000
- Complete 21 and get ₹2000
Why does this work so wonderfully?
Because it uses the natural tendency of the human mind to always want more.
If you have finished 4 trips and it’s 6 PM you just want to complete 2 more and unlock your reward.
You complete two quick trips.
It’s by 6:50 PM, you just got your ₹300 for the day.
But it’s just 7:00 PM, you usually drive till 10:30, if you stretch it just a little bit you might be able to make it to 12 rides.
So you add a few extra minutes, a couple of prayers, and voila!
When you start your next day, 12 is not Only If you get lucky.
Instead, it’s possible.
After that, you stretch it just a bit and slowly 12 rides become your normal
That’s how your average slowly goes up from four or five rides per day with no incentive to taking home ₹2000 per day almost regularly.
This applies just as well to your work goals!
Many times structuring things like this gives you the chance to remove all the unnecessary overthinking and focus on getting things done.
Without exhausting your willpower.
