It’s when you become a writer
When you start to see yourself as the writer
When you start to feel the pressure of being a writer
That’s when the fun begins to die!
The only way to keep having fun while doing it is – just keep writing.
Don’t think about it.
Definitely not along the lines of “I am a writer, this is what I do!“
Don’t turn it into a profession
Because that’s where passion goes to die.
Writers have the pressure of I must do it right!
And if you have to go through hell every time you do the thing that makes you successful,
That’s too big of a price to pay for success.
If you don’t enjoy it, then what’s the friggin point?
Don’t hold on too tightly to the idea of having fun either.
Just have fun most of the time.
And don’t fear being a professional when you feel that that helps you create better!
If you are going out sailing –
RA
Enjoy the bliss of the complete sea!
Don’t limit yourself by being close enough to the shore for the sake of safety!
For just beyond this ‘safety net‘ might lie the thing that will make you fall in love with the sea forever
All over again
Don’t think about “becoming a writer”
That’s just too much pressure!
Instead… just write!!
For the fun of it!
