How many types of you are there?
- Who you think you are – the ego
- Who you wanna be – the desire
- Who you present yourself to be – the mask
- Or… Who you actually are – truly alive and fragile in the moment
But most of us have lost contact with that inner eye that sees the truth and honestly reflects.
So we depend on others to tell us who we are.
But alas! They only see the mask.
So what do we do?
We start ‘painting the mask’ in the name of self-improvement!
And after a lifetime!
We ask – why does it feel empty inside?
But blaming ourselves isn’t fair either.
Because we lost touch with that inner eye.
That voice that tells us what’s right.
Feeble as it may be it speaks.
Telling us what to do.
Asking us to believe.
But it’s hard! Incredibly hard!
To just do what feels right.
To know… that
you will eventually reach where you are supposed to be…
So what do we do?
At least start…
With not seeking the voices that distract you from your own
And attune to the voice inside
Yes! It will take a while!
just hang in there, looking for it.
And follow it when you find…
Eventually!
After stumbling and falling and bashing you will get to a place
Where you can finally stop the chase
Where it waits for you.
Why put in all the effort?
Knowing that it may never be…
What is the point?
It may be a chase that’ll never end!
No!
What’s the choice?
For you may spend a lifetime painting your mask.
RA
And still, feel empty inside!
Stop!
Stop seeing yourself through others’ eyes
And maybe, just maybe
you will get to a point
Where instead of chasing
the voice is your companion, a friend for life!
